Helping Hands We’re well aware of the financial pressures that everyone’s facing and at the 6FB none of our members must feel excluded. That’s why we’ve got money set aside to ensure that no young person misses out on any of the incredible opportunities that Scouting has to offer. It might be used for:Uniform as the young person progresses through Beavers, Cubs and ScoutsAttending a particular event, whether it’s arranged by the Group, District, County or nationally, including nights away such as campsHelp with subscriptions as requiredThere are no forms to fill in, and you won’t be asked to make any repayments. If you’d like to offer something in return why not volunteer some of your time to assist the Group? (although this is not a condition of getting help.)You can speak to the Executive Committee in confidence or click here to email our Helping Hands coordinator (Mel Loades) directly. Mel will respond to you within 7 days.We know that offering help is easy, but asking for help isn’t. It isn’t a weakness or failure – it can actually take a lot of strength to do. We’ll try to make it as simple as we can. Please get in touch. You can also save money with some of Scouting’s partners when you buy your gear:GO Outdoors – 10% discount for youth members and 15% discount for adult volunteersBlacks, Millets & Ultimate Outdoors discount codes – 15% discount for youth members and 20% discount for adult volunteersYou’ll need a special code for these – please ask a leader.
