PLs PLUS: Hike Camp

This is a hike camp for older Scouts only. You will carry everything you need with you, including tents, cooking equipment and food. The hike will be about 10km on Saturday and 10km on Sunday. We will set up camp at  Danemead Scout campsite near Broxbourne. The cost will be £20 – if you are taking part, please bring this in an envelope marked with your name.

Parents: We will need some help with transport, please.

Parents will be given the mobile numbers for leaders on the hike, for use in an emergency only.

If you have not yet completed the Expedition Challenge Award, you will need to give a presentation to the Troop afterwards.

We will meet at Manor Drive at 9.00am on Saturday 2nd July and return there at 3pm approx. on Sunday 3rd July.

Kit List

• Scout scarf
• Packed lunch
• For hiking:
  • Warm clothes (several thin layers)
  • Cotton or cord trousers (not jeans)
  • Walking boots (with ankle support and a good tread)
  • 2 pairs thick socks (to prevent boots rubbing)
• Large Rucsack (you’ll have to carry some of the camping equipment as well as your personal kit)
• Good waterproofs (coat and overtrousers)
• Sun hat
• Water bottle (one that won’t break or leak)
• Wash kit
• Towel
• Sleeping bag
• Sleep mat
• Sleep wear
• Torch & batteries
